Hello school community

Welcome to this month's edition of the Owls Newsletter! We're excited to share the latest happenings and updates from our school community to keep you informed and engaged.

Happy September, Woodland Pines Families!
What an amazing start to the school year! Our halls are filled with smiling faces, new friendships, lots of learning, and little seeds already beginning to grow. 💙
At Woodland Pines, we believe that the small things we do each day—encouraging a child, celebrating progress, asking questions, and trying something new—help plant the seeds for BIG dreams. Thank you for partnering with us and supporting your children as they learn and grow.
September is packed with exciting opportunities to learn, connect, and make memories together. I can’t wait to see what continues to bloom at WPE!

It’s not too late to join PTO!

💙 Corporate Sponsorships
Help support Woodland Pines while giving your business some great visibility! Corporate sponsorships are due October 2nd. Any student who brings in a sponsorship by October 2nd will be invited to a special Chick-fil-A lunch with a guest on Monday, October 5th!
Sponsors will also receive recognition on our sponsor banner, in the yearbook, and through a social media shout-out.

Our Fall Fundraiser kicks off in October! More details are coming soon, so keep an eye out for information on how your family can participate and help support WPE!

Curriculum

Counseling

ACS will continue to utilize the P.A.T.H. (Prevention and Awareness for Total Health) counseling curriculum this year as part of our commitment to supporting the growth of our students.
Each grade level curriculum is included in the attached information letters. The curriculum is centered around four mandated prevention topics and embeds additional life skills and character traits. Lessons will be age-appropriate and will be delivered during classroom counseling lessons throughout the school year.
This program will also provide resources for parents to reinforce these skills at home, creating a consistent and supportive environment for students.
As part of the P.A.T.H. Curriculum, WPE will also be introducing character education this school year. There will be a new character trait each month. Students will learn about that trait, see examples, and be recognized for demonstrating the trait as well. Our character trait for September is: Responsibility. Doing what you are supposed to do, taking care of yourself and your things.

A Few Reminders

School Schedule

Morning Arrival: 7:15–7:45 a.m.

  • All students should exit from the passenger side of the vehicle.
  • Please make sure your child is ready to unload when you reach the drop-off area.
  • Students should exit the vehicle as quickly and safely as possible.
  • Parents should remain in their vehicles. A staff member will assist students as needed.
  • Students who are eating breakfast should arrive by 7:35 a.m.

Tardy Bell: 7:45 a.m.
Instruction begins promptly at 7:45 a.m. Students arriving after 7:45 must be escorted into the building by a parent or guardian and signed in through the front office.

Afternoon Dismissal: 2:35 p.m.

  • Student checkouts are not permitted after 2:00 p.m.
  • All transportation changes must be submitted through the Ride Verified link by 1:00 p.m.


Transportation

🚍 Transportation Information
All BUS transportation information will be managed through the My Ride K-12 app. This app allows you to:

  • Track your child's bus in real time.
  • Receive notifications if buses are delayed or not running during the morning or afternoon routes.
Please note: Bus announcements will not be sent through ParentSquare this school year. A post on ParentSquare with instructions for downloading and using the My Ride K-12 app was posted on July 24 and July 29. A flyer will also be included in your child's back-to-school folder.

Transportation Changes
Beginning August 19, all transportation changes must be submitted through the Ride Verified link. Ride Verified communicates transportation changes directly with teachers and school staff and is the only way to make changes to your child's dismissal plans. Details on this system will be delivered at Curriculum Night.

  • No transportation changes will be accepted after 1:00 p.m.
  • No student checkouts will be permitted after 2:00 p.m.

Car Rider Pick-Up
For the safety of all students, you must present your car rider tag when picking up your child.

  • Each family will receive two car rider tags at the beginning of the school year.
  • You may also access your digital car rider tag through Ride Verified (after August 17).
If you do not have your car rider tag at dismissal, you will be asked to park, report to the front office, and present a valid photo ID before your child can be released at the end of car line.

School supplies may be brought to Meet the Teacher or on the first day of school.

Please do not label individual supplies, as each teacher has a different method for collecting and organizing classroom supplies.
